Air fryer powers on but will not start cooking when Start button is pressed.

Safety first: Unplug before inspecting mechanical interlocks.

• Check basket and lid: Ensure the basket is fully inserted and the lid (if applicable) is completely closed and latched. Many Instant Pot air fryers will not start unless all safety interlocks are engaged.
• Program selection: Confirm that a cooking program and temperature/time have been selected before pressing Start.
• Inspect Start button: Press the Start button repeatedly and feel for a tactile click. If it feels mushy or unresponsive, the keypad may be failing.
• Panel cleaning: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove grease that may interfere with capacitive touch buttons. Dry thoroughly.
• Advanced: Open the housing and inspect the ribbon cable between the control panel and main board. Reseat connectors. If the Start button circuit tests open when pressed, replace the control panel board.
