Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before accessing the heater.

Check settings: Verify that a temperature above room temperature is selected and that the unit is not in a fan‑only or cool‑down mode.
Visual inspection: Look at the heating element through the top or interior. During operation, it should glow faintly red at higher temperatures. If it never glows, suspect a heater issue.
Internal access: Remove the housing to access the heater terminals and thermal fuse. Inspect for burned wires or loose connectors.
Test heater and fuse: With a multimeter, test continuity across the heating element and the thermal fuse. Replace any open component with the correct Instant Pot‑specified part.
Control board: If heater and fuse are good, the heater relay or triac on the main control board may have failed. Replace the board.
