Possible Causes
Normal operation, residual heat in heater housing, slightly sticky temperature sensor causing extended cool‑down
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: In most Instant Pot air fryers, 'COOL' is a normal indication that the unit is dissipating residual heat.
- Allow the cycle to finish: Let the fan run until it shuts off automatically. This protects internal components.
- Check for excessive duration: If 'COOL' lasts more than 20–30 minutes, unplug the unit, allow it to cool fully, then restart. Persistent long cool‑down may indicate a sensor reading too high.
- Clean sensor area: Grease buildup on the temperature sensor can cause it to read hot longer than actual. Clean the interior ceiling and sensor area gently.
No parts replacement is usually required unless the fan never shuts off or a related error code appears.
