Possible Causes

Shorted temperature sensor, moisture or grease bridging sensor terminals, failed main control board input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Do not attempt to cook while the E2 code is present.

  • Clean the sensor area: Remove the basket and inspect the interior ceiling and walls. Locate the temperature sensor near the heating element. If there is heavy grease, moisture, or food residue, clean it thoroughly with a non‑abrasive sponge and mild detergent. Dry completely before use.
  • Dry the unit: If you recently washed the interior aggressively or used excessive water, allow the unit to air dry for several hours. You can place it in a warm, dry room but do not use external heat sources directly on the unit.
  • Inspect wiring (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the outer cover to access the sensor wiring. Look for melted insulation, bare wires touching each other or the chassis, or corrosion at connectors. Separate and insulate any touching wires using high‑temperature electrical tape or replace the harness if damaged.
  • Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor from the board and measure resistance. A reading near 0 ohms (short) indicates a failed sensor that must be replaced.
  • Reassemble and test: After cleaning, drying, and any repairs, reassemble the housing, plug in, and test. If E2 persists with a known‑good sensor, the main control board is likely defective and should be replaced.

Never operate the air fryer with a known sensor fault; this can lead to uncontrolled overheating.
