Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, obstructed fan blades, loose fan connector on control board, defective fan driver circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Moving parts and live voltage are present near the fan.
- Check for airflow: When the unit is cool, plug it in and start a short cycle. Place your hand near the exhaust vents (without blocking them). If you feel no airflow, stop the cycle and unplug.
- Inspect the fan (advanced): Remove the outer cover to access the fan assembly. Look for food particles, foil, or plastic stuck in the blades. Remove any obstructions carefully.
- Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. It should spin freely. If it feels stiff, gritty, or wobbly, the motor bearings may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
- Check wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is firmly seated on the main control board and that wires are not pinched or cut.
- Test the motor: With a multimeter, check the motor windings for continuity. An open winding indicates a failed motor.
- If motor is good but not powered: The control board's fan driver circuit may be defective. Replace the main control board.
Do not operate the air fryer with a non‑functional fan; this can cause overheating and further damage.
