Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before inspecting the heater area.

• Check temperature setting: Verify that a proper temperature (e.g., 375°F/190°C) is selected and that preheat is allowed to complete.
• Observe heater glow: With the basket removed and unit running (use caution), look up at the heater. It should glow red after a minute or two. If it stays dark, the element may be open.
• Listen for relay: A clicking sound from the control board indicates the heater relay is switching. No click may mean a relay or board fault.
• Inspect wiring (advanced): Open the housing and check heater terminals and wires for loose or burned connections.
• Test element and fuse: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the heating element and thermal fuse. Replace any open components with Instant-compatible parts.
