Possible Causes

Open heating element, Loose heater terminals, Burned wiring between heater and control board, Faulty heater relay on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool. The heater and internal wiring can remain hot after use.

  • Visual heater check: Remove the basket and look up at the heating element. Check for breaks, warping, or burn spots on the coil.
  • Listen for relay click: Start a cook cycle and listen for a click from the control board area. No click may indicate a failed relay or control board.
  • Inspect wiring (advanced): With the housing removed, inspect the heater terminals and wires for loose connections, discoloration, or melted insulation.
  • Test element continuity: Using a multimeter (with the unit unplugged), test the heating element for continuity. An open reading indicates a failed element.
  • Replace heating element: If the element is open or visibly damaged, replace it with a compatible Instant air fryer heating element assembly.
  • Replace control board: If the element and wiring are good but E6 persists, the heater relay or driver on the main control board is likely faulty and the board should be replaced.
