How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before any inspection. If you smell burning or see smoke, do not attempt repair; consult a professional.
Steps to troubleshoot no-power condition:
- Check outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord and plug: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If damaged, the cord must be replaced by a qualified technician.
- Open the base: Remove the bottom cover to access the internal wiring. Trace the power cord to the input terminal block or directly to the control board. Ensure all screw terminals and push-on connectors are tight.
- Locate and test thermal fuse: Many Kalorik air fryers include a thermal fuse in series with the heater or main supply, often wrapped in fiberglass sleeving near the heating element. Disconnect one side and test continuity with a multimeter. If open, it has blown.
- Replace thermal fuse: Install a replacement Kalorik-compatible high-temperature thermal fuse with the same temperature and current rating. Crimp or spot-weld connections; do not solder directly to the fuse body as heat can damage it.
- Check control board: If the thermal fuse is good, inspect the power/control PCB for burnt components or a blown input fuse (if present). Replace the control board assembly if damaged.
After repair, reassemble fully before plugging in. Never bypass a thermal fuse; it is a critical safety device.
