Possible Causes
Warped drawer from overheating, Bent drawer rails, Food debris in slide tracks, Damaged latch or front housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the air fryer to cool before forcing the drawer; hot metal and plastic can deform further if stressed.
Steps to address drawer issues:
- Inspect for debris: Remove the drawer and basket. Check the side rails and bottom of the cavity for burnt food or grease buildup. Clean thoroughly.
- Check drawer shape: Place the drawer on a flat surface and see if it rocks or appears twisted. Warping is common if the unit has been overheated or run empty at high temperatures.
- Inspect rails and latch: Look at the internal rails and front latch area for bends or cracks. Gently straighten minor bends with pliers.
- Test fit: Reinsert the empty drawer and see if it slides smoothly. Do not force it; forcing can damage the basket safety switch actuator.
- Replace drawer/basket assembly: If the drawer is visibly warped or cracked, replace it with a Kalorik drawer/basket assembly designed for your model.
A misaligned drawer can prevent the safety switch from engaging, causing the unit not to start.
