Possible Causes
Damaged non-stick coating causing gaps, Cracked drawer pan, Overfilled basket with excess oil, Misaligned inner basket in outer drawer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool before cleaning leaked oil. Oil on a hot surface can cause burns or smoke.
Steps to address leaking:
- Check fill level: Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum fill line in the basket and that you are not adding large amounts of liquid directly into the drawer.
- Inspect basket and drawer: Remove the basket and drawer. Fill the drawer with a small amount of water and check for leaks at seams or corners. Look for cracks or warping.
- Check basket fit: Ensure the inner basket locks properly into the outer drawer. If the latch is worn, liquids can bypass the basket and leak out.
- Replace damaged parts: If the drawer or basket is cracked or the non-stick layer is peeling to the point of exposing seams, replace the Kalorik basket and/or drawer assembly.
- Clean thoroughly: Clean any oil from the bottom of the unit and the countertop to prevent odors and potential fire risk.
Do not use the air fryer with a cracked drawer; hot oil can leak onto the heating element and cause smoke or fire.
