• Check heating element: Visually inspect the heating element for cracks or contact with the metal chassis. A cracked element can short to ground.
• Test for ground fault (advanced): With the unit unplugged, use a multimeter to check resistance between each heater terminal and the metal chassis. A low resistance indicates a ground fault; replace the heating element assembly.
• Inspect control board: Look for carbon tracking or burnt areas on the control PCB. Replace the board if damaged.
