Possible Causes

Overheating causing thermal fuse or thermostat to open intermittently, Loose mains connection heating up, Failing power/control PCB, Blocked ventilation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool fully before inspection. Repeated overheating can be a fire hazard.

Steps to troubleshoot mid-cycle shutdown:

  • Check ventilation and placement: Ensure the air fryer has adequate clearance on all sides and is not under low cabinets where heat can accumulate. Do not place it on soft surfaces that block bottom vents.
  • Clean internal areas: Remove basket and drawer. Clean grease from the heating element area and vents. Heavy grease buildup can trap heat.
  • Inspect internal connections: Remove the bottom cover and check all screw terminals and push-on connectors for signs of overheating (discoloration, melting). Tighten any loose connections.
  • Test thermal devices: Locate the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat. If the unit only works again after a long cool-down, the thermostat may be opening at too low a temperature. Replace the high-limit thermostat with a Kalorik-specified part.
  • Check control board: If power loss is random and not clearly heat-related, the power/control PCB may be failing. Inspect for cracked solder joints, especially around heavy components and connectors. Replace the board if defects are found.

Do not continue using the air fryer if it repeatedly shuts down from overheating; resolve the root cause first.
