Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Kalorik air fryer and allow it to cool fully. Do not touch the heating area while hot.
Steps to address E2:
- Basic reset and cleaning: Unplug for 10 minutes. Remove basket and drawer. Clean any heavy grease buildup around the heating element and air outlet using a damp cloth (no abrasive pads). Excess grease can cause hot spots and trigger overheat errors.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the bottom cover to access internals. Locate the NTC temperature sensor near the heating element. Check if the sensor wires are melted, pinched, or touching the heating element or metal chassis. If insulation is damaged, the sensor may be shorted.
- Test the sensor: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads at room temperature. A shorted sensor will read near 0Ω. If so, replace the sensor.
- Replace the NTC sensor: Order a compatible Kalorik NTC temperature sensor for your model. Remove the old sensor from its clip, route the new sensor away from the heater and moving parts, and connect it to the control board.
- Check for airflow blockage: Make sure the rear and bottom ventilation openings are not blocked by cabinets, walls, or objects. Maintain several inches of clearance around the air fryer to prevent overheating.
- Control board check: If a known-good sensor still results in E2, the control PCB may be misreading the sensor. Inspect for burnt components; if found, replace the control board assembly.
If the unit continues to show E2 after sensor and cleaning checks, discontinue use and consult a professional technician or Kalorik support.
