Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool completely. Do not cover vents during operation.
Steps to address E3:
- Check ventilation: Ensure the Kalorik air fryer has at least 4–6 inches of clearance on all sides and above. Remove any objects blocking the rear or bottom vents.
- Clean the heating area: Remove basket and drawer. Gently clean the heating element area and upper cavity with a soft brush and damp cloth to remove grease and food debris. Built-up grease can trap heat and trigger overtemperature protection.
- Inspect high-limit thermostat: Remove the bottom cover. Locate the high-limit thermostat / thermal cutoff (usually a small round or inline device attached near the heater with two wires). Check for signs of overheating or discoloration.
- Test continuity: With the unit unplugged, disconnect one wire from the thermostat and test continuity with a multimeter. A good thermostat should show continuity (closed) at room temperature. If it is open and does not reset after cooling, it has failed.
- Replace high-limit thermostat: Order a compatible Kalorik high-limit thermostat / thermal fuse for your model. Transfer any mounting brackets, install in the same location, and reconnect wires firmly.
- Control board relay check: If the unit overheats rapidly or the heater stays on when it should be off, the heater relay on the control PCB may be stuck closed. Inspect the board for burnt or welded relay contacts. Replace the control board assembly if the relay is faulty.
After repairs, run a short test cycle with an empty basket to confirm normal operation and that E3 does not reappear.
