Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening any covers. Do not continue to operate the air fryer on a suspect electrical circuit.
Steps to address E5:
- Check outlet and circuit: Plug the air fryer into a different dedicated outlet. Avoid using long extension cords or sharing the circuit with refrigerators, microwaves, or other high-draw appliances.
- Inspect power cord entry: With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover and inspect where the power cord enters the chassis. Ensure the strain relief is intact and the live/neutral connections to the input terminal block or control board are tight.
- Check for heat damage: Look for discoloration or melting around the cord connections or on the power section of the control PCB.
- Measure supply (advanced): If you have a multimeter and are qualified, you can measure the mains voltage at the outlet (should be within your region's standard). Do not measure inside the unit unless you are trained to work with live mains voltage.
- Replace power/control board: If the household voltage is normal and connections are secure but E5 persists, the switch-mode power supply (SMPS) on the control board may be failing. Replace the Kalorik control PCB assembly.
Persistent E5 errors with other appliances also misbehaving may indicate a household wiring issue; contact an electrician.
