Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Some warmth is normal, but surfaces should not cause burns. If the exterior is extremely hot, unplug the unit and allow it to cool.
Steps to address excessive exterior heat:
- Check placement: Ensure the air fryer is not placed against walls or under cabinets that trap heat. Provide at least 4–6 inches of clearance.
- Clean vents and interior: Remove grease and dust from all external vents and the interior cavity, especially around the heater and fan.
- Inspect internal shields: Remove the bottom cover and check that any metal heat shields or reflective panels are properly installed and not missing.
- Verify fan performance: Confirm that the convection fan motor is running at full speed and not obstructed.
- Replace damaged shields or fan: If shields are missing or the fan is weak, replace the Kalorik heat shield panels or convection fan motor assembly as needed.
Do not cover the air fryer with towels or other materials while in use; this can cause dangerous overheating.
