Possible Causes
Loose basket microswitch, Worn drawer actuator tab, Misaligned front housing, Loose switch wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before adjusting internal switches.
Steps to fix intermittent basket detection:
- Check drawer fit: Ensure the drawer slides smoothly and fully seats without excessive side-to-side play.
- Inspect actuator tab: Look at the drawer edge where it engages the internal switch. If the plastic tab is worn or rounded, it may not press the switch firmly. Replace the drawer/basket assembly if needed.
- Access microswitch: Remove the bottom cover and locate the basket safety microswitch. Verify that it is securely mounted and aligned with the drawer path.
- Adjust or tighten: Slightly adjust the switch position so the drawer presses it more positively, then tighten mounting screws.
- Replace switch: If the switch is mechanically loose or electrically intermittent, replace it with a Kalorik basket safety microswitch.
Reliable operation of the safety switch is essential; do not bypass it.
