How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before accessing internal parts.
- Use an oven thermometer: Place a thermometer in the basket and compare actual temperature to the set temperature after 10–15 minutes.
- Clean sensor and cavity: Grease on the NTC sensor or cavity walls can cause incorrect readings. Gently clean the interior and sensor area with a soft cloth and mild cleaner.
- Inspect heating element: Access the heater and look for dark spots, breaks, or sagging coils. Replace the element if damaged.
- Check supply voltage: If other appliances on the same circuit dim lights or trip breakers, have an electrician check for low voltage.
- Replace sensor or thermostat: If the element is intact but temperatures are consistently low, replace the NTC sensor or thermostat as specified for your Kenmore model.
