Possible Causes
Fan tachometer signal failure,Obstructed fan blades,Defective fan motor,Faulty fan speed sensing circuit on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool before touching the fan area.
- Check for debris: Remove the basket and visually inspect the fan blades. Remove any stuck food, foil, or accessories blocking the fan.
- Manual spin test: Gently spin the fan with a wooden stick. It should rotate smoothly. Grinding or stiffness indicates worn bearings and the motor should be replaced.
- Inspect tach wire: Many fan motors have a third wire for speed feedback. Ensure this wire and connector are intact and firmly seated on the main control board.
- Replace fan motor: If the fan does not run at all or runs erratically and CF persists, replace the convection fan motor assembly.
- Board issue: If a new motor does not resolve CF, the fan speed sensing circuit on the main control board is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
