Possible Causes
Blocked air vents,Failed cavity temperature sensor,Stuck relay on main control board,Faulty thermal cutoff or thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. Do not cover vents during operation.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the air fryer has at least 4 inches (10 cm) of clearance on all sides and is not pushed against a wall or under low cabinets. Clear any obstructions from the rear and bottom vents.
- Clean air passages: Remove the basket and drawer. Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove grease and crumbs from the heater area and vents. Built‑up grease can trap heat and trigger E2.
- Inspect thermal cutoff: Access the top or rear panel to locate the thermal cutoff/thermal fuse mounted near the heating element. Check for signs of overheating or discoloration. A blown thermal cutoff will usually read open (OL) on a multimeter and must be replaced.
- Check sensor placement: Verify the NTC temperature sensor is firmly attached to its mounting bracket and not hanging loose in the cavity, which can cause incorrect readings.
- Persistent E2: If ventilation is good and components look intact but E2 appears immediately on startup, the main control board may have a stuck heater relay or faulty temperature sensing circuit and should be replaced.
