Misaligned basket microswitch,Broken basket latch tab,Failed basket/door switch,Loose switch wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before adjusting any internal switches.
- Check basket insertion: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket/drawer, ensuring it is fully seated. Some models require a firm push to engage the safety switch.
- Inspect latch: Examine the basket rails and latch tabs for cracks or deformation. Replace the basket assembly if the latch is broken.
- Locate the switch: With the unit unplugged, remove the side or bottom panel to access the basket/door microswitch. Verify the actuator lever moves freely when the basket is inserted.
- Test the switch: Disconnect the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the actuator. The reading should change from open to closed. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Secure wiring: Ensure the switch wires are firmly connected to the main control board and not pinched by the cabinet.
