Possible Causes

Blocked air inlet or outlet vents, Failed or slow circulation fan motor, Faulty high‑limit thermostat stuck closed, Grease buildup on heater and sensor causing incorrect readings

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely. Do not operate with covers removed.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the fryer has at least 10 cm clearance on all sides and that rear and bottom vents are not blocked by walls, foil, or other appliances.
  • Clean interior: Remove basket and drawer. Clean the heater guard, interior walls, and air outlet with a non‑abrasive cloth and degreaser. Built‑up grease can cause hot spots and false overheat.
  • Inspect fan operation: With the unit reassembled, plug in and start a short cycle while observing from the rear vents. You should feel strong airflow and hear the fan. If airflow is weak or intermittent, the fan motor or fan blade may be failing.
  • Check high‑limit thermostat: Access the heater assembly and locate the small disc‑type thermostat (thermal cut‑out). If it is heavily discolored or cracked, replace it. Some models use a resettable thermostat with a small button—if present, press to reset.
  • Test again: After cleaning and any part replacement, run the unit empty on a low temperature setting and monitor for E3. If the error persists, the main PCB temperature control circuit may be faulty.
