Possible Causes
Blown thermal fuse on heater assembly, Severe airflow restriction, Prolonged operation at maximum temperature, Shorted heater causing excessive current and heat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the fryer and wait until it is completely cool. Internal components can remain hot for 30+ minutes.
- Check for obvious blockage: Confirm that air vents are clear and that the basket/drawer are correctly installed and not overfilled.
- Access heater assembly: Remove the rear or top cover to expose the heater and thermal fuse (usually a small cylindrical component wrapped in heat‑shrink and clipped to the heater bracket).
- Test thermal fuse: Disconnect one lead of the thermal fuse and measure continuity with a multimeter. If it reads open (no continuity), it has blown and must be replaced with an identical temperature and current rating.
- Inspect heater: Check the heating element for cracks, burn marks, or deformation. Measure resistance; a dead short (near 0 Ω) indicates a failed element that must be replaced before fitting a new fuse.
- Reassemble carefully: Route wires away from hot surfaces and sharp edges. Never bypass the thermal fuse; it is a critical safety device.
