Possible Causes
Moisture inside heater or fan area, Damaged insulation on heater or wiring touching chassis, Faulty mains filter capacitor leaking to earth, Cracked heating element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not repeatedly reset the breaker. Unplug the fryer and keep it disconnected until the fault is found.
- Drying: If the unit was recently washed or exposed to moisture, allow it to dry in a warm, dry place for 24–48 hours, then test again.
- Insulation check: With the unit unplugged, use a multimeter to check for continuity between live/neutral and the metal chassis. Any reading indicates leakage.
- Inspect heater and wiring: Look for cracks in the heating element and damaged insulation on wires. Replace any suspect parts.
- Filter replacement: If the mains interference filter shows signs of cracking or burning, replace it or the entire PCB section that contains it.
