Possible Causes
Damaged non-stick coating with cracks, Warped or dented pan, Overfilled basket causing overflow, Missing or damaged pan gasket (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the fryer and allow it to cool before cleaning spilled oil.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect pan and basket: Remove both and fill the pan with a small amount of water. Check for leaks around seams and corners.
- 2. Check for warping: Place the pan on a flat surface to see if it rocks. Warped pans may not seal properly and should be replaced.
- 3. Examine gaskets: Some Klarstein models use a silicone gasket between the pan and basket. Inspect for tears or missing sections and replace if damaged.
- 4. Avoid overfilling: Ensure food and oil levels do not exceed the maximum fill line. Excess fat can overflow into the cavity.
- 5. Clean cavity: Wipe any oil from the bottom of the cavity and vents to prevent smoke and odors.
Warning: Do not operate the fryer with known leaks; hot oil can contact electrical parts and cause fire or shock.
