Possible Causes
Loose fan blade on shaft, Worn fan motor bearings, Foreign object in fan housing, Loose internal screws or panels vibrating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and let it cool. Do not insert tools into the fan area while powered.
Steps:
- 1. Identify noise source: Run the fryer briefly with the basket removed to localize the noise (fan area vs. housing). Then unplug before opening.
- 2. Access fan and interior: Remove the housing and heater shroud to expose the fan and motor.
- 3. Check fan blade: Ensure the fan blade is tight on the motor shaft. Tighten any retaining nut or clip. Replace the fan blade if cracked or warped.
- 4. Remove debris: Clear any loose screws, food pieces, or plastic fragments from the fan housing and cavity.
- 5. Assess motor bearings: Spin the fan by hand. Grinding or side-to-side play indicates worn bearings. Replace the fan motor assembly.
- 6. Tighten internal hardware: Check and tighten screws securing the heater bracket, fan shroud, and control board to reduce vibration.
- 7. Reassemble and test: Refit covers and run a test cycle to confirm noise reduction.
Warning: Do not lubricate sealed motor bearings; replace the motor instead.
