Possible Causes
Bent basket rails, Warped basket or pan from overheating, Debris in rail tracks, Damaged basket latch mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the fryer to cool before attempting to force the basket.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect basket and pan: Remove both and check for warping, dents, or bent edges. Replace the basket or pan if significantly deformed.
- 2. Clean rails and cavity: Wipe the side rails and bottom of the cavity to remove burnt-on food or grease that may obstruct movement.
- 3. Check latch mechanism: Inspect the basket handle latch and any hooks that engage the safety switch. Ensure they move freely and are not broken.
- 4. Realign rails: If the internal rails are slightly bent, gently straighten them with padded pliers. Do not apply excessive force that could crack the liner.
- 5. Test insertion: Slide the empty basket and pan in and out several times to confirm smooth operation.
Warning: Do not slam or force the basket; this can damage the safety switch and rails.
