Possible Causes
Seized fan motor bearings, Obstructed fan blades, Failed fan motor winding, Faulty fan driver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and let the unit cool; the heater area can remain hot for some time.
- Check for noise and movement: During a brief test (if safe), listen for fan noise. If silent, stop and unplug.
- Inspect fan area: Remove the basket and look up at the fan guard. Check for food debris or warped guards blocking the blades.
- Access fan motor: Remove the top cover and any internal shrouds to reach the fan assembly. Try rotating the fan by hand; it should spin freely.
- Test motor: Disconnect the motor and measure resistance across its leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- Control board check: If the motor is good but never receives voltage, the fan driver on the main PCB may be defective and require board replacement.
Warning: Do not operate the air fryer without the fan; this can cause overheating and fire risk.
