Possible Causes
Shorted heating element to chassis, Damaged mains cord insulation, Moisture inside heater/fan area, Shorted mains filter component
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset the breaker. Unplug the air fryer immediately.
- Visual inspection: Remove the cover and inspect the heater, fan motor, and mains wiring for burn marks, melted insulation, or signs of arcing.
- Check cord and grommet: Inspect where the mains cord enters the cabinet. Ensure the grommet is intact and the metal edge has not cut into the insulation.
- Moisture check: Look for condensation or water inside the heater/fan area, especially if the unit was recently cleaned. Allow to dry completely for 24 hours in a warm, dry place.
- Insulation testing: If you have appropriate test equipment, check for continuity between heater terminals and chassis. Any reading indicates a leakage fault and the heater must be replaced.
- Filter board: Inspect the mains filter for cracked MOVs or burnt components. Replace the filter board if damaged.
Warning: Earth leakage and shorts are serious safety issues. If you are not trained in electrical safety testing, seek professional service.
