Possible Causes
Moisture or grease film on touch panel, Cracked or warped fascia, Faulty touch sensor IC, Electrical noise from failing power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before cleaning or disassembly.
- Clean surface: Wipe the control panel with a soft cloth lightly dampened with mild detergent, then dry thoroughly.
- Check for damage: Inspect the fascia for cracks or warping that could affect touch sensitivity. Replace if damaged.
- Internal inspection: Remove the fascia and inspect the touch PCB for contamination or corrosion. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol if needed.
- Replace touch PCB: If ghost presses persist, replace the Lakeland touch control panel PCB.
- Power stability: Ensure the power supply is stable; if display flicker accompanies ghost presses, consider replacing the main PCB.
Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the panel; liquid ingress can worsen the problem.
