Possible Causes
Open heating element, Burnt heater terminals, Loose spade connectors on heater, Failed heater relay or triac on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and wait until the heater area is completely cool.
- Access the heater: Remove the top or rear cover to expose the heating element assembly. Note the routing of wires for reassembly.
- Inspect connections: Check the spade terminals where the heater connects to the wiring harness. Tighten any loose connectors and look for discoloration or burning.
- Continuity test: Disconnect at least one heater lead and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check wiring: Inspect the high-temperature wires from the heater to the control board for burns or breaks. Replace any damaged high-temp leads with equivalent heat-rated wire.
- Control board relay: If the heater tests good, listen for a click from the relay when starting a cook cycle. No click or visible burn marks on the PCB around the relay/triac suggest a failed board.
- Replace parts as needed: Install a Lakeland-compatible heating element assembly or main control PCB, ensuring all earth/ground connections are secure.
Warning: The heater circuit carries mains voltage. Do not test live unless you are trained and using proper insulated tools.
