Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Open or shorted fan motor winding, Failed fan driver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool.
- Check for obstruction: Remove the basket and look up at the fan guard. Spin the fan blades gently with a non-metallic tool. They should rotate freely without scraping.
- Access the fan: Remove the top cover and any internal shrouds to reach the fan motor. Inspect for food debris, warped guards, or screws protruding into the fan path.
- Free the fan: Clear any debris and gently straighten bent fan blades or guards. Do not force the motor shaft.
- Test the motor: Disconnect the motor plug and measure resistance across the motor leads. An open or very low resistance suggests a failed motor.
- Check wiring and board: Inspect the fan connector on the PCB for burns or loose solder joints. If the motor is good but never receives power, the control board's fan driver may be defective.
- Replace as needed: Install a new Lakeland convection fan motor or main control PCB, ensuring correct orientation and secure mounting.
Warning: Do not operate the air fryer with the fan disabled; this can cause dangerous overheating.
