E8 error code appears intermittently; unit may shut off mid-cycle or fail to start.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and wait for internal capacitors to discharge (at least 5–10 minutes).
- External checks: Try a different wall socket and avoid extension leads. Inspect the mains plug and cord for cuts or kinks.
- Internal cord connection: Remove the rear or bottom cover to access where the mains cord enters the unit. Ensure the strain relief is intact and the live/neutral/earth connections are tight on the terminal block or filter board.
- Inspect power board: Look for a small PCB with fuses, capacitors, and possibly a transformer. Check for burn marks, bulging capacitors, or cracked solder joints.
- Fuse check: Test any internal fuses with a meter and replace only with the same type and rating if blown.
- Control board supply: If comfortable and trained, measure the low-voltage output from the power section to the logic board (often 5 V or 12 V DC). Fluctuating or missing voltage indicates a failing supply.
- Replace faulty modules: Replace the mains filter/power board or the entire main control PCB as supplied by Lakeland.
Warning: The power supply area carries lethal voltages. If you are not experienced with mains electronics, seek a professional technician.
