Possible Causes

Recent overheating event not fully cooled, Blocked rear or bottom vents, Thermal cut-out partially tripped, Control board temperature logic latched

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off and unplug the air fryer.

  • Allow full cool-down: Leave the unit unplugged for at least 30–45 minutes in a cool, ventilated area to ensure all internal sensors and safety devices reset.
  • Check placement: Make sure the air fryer is not placed against a wall or under low cabinets. Provide adequate clearance around all vents.
  • Clean vents: Inspect rear and bottom vents for dust, grease, or plastic bags blocking airflow. Clean with a soft brush or vacuum.
  • Inspect thermal cut-out: Open the housing and locate the thermal cut-out near the heater. If it has a manual reset button, press it gently.
  • Power cycle: After cooling and cleaning, plug the unit back in and attempt a low-temperature cook cycle to see if H1 clears.
  • Replace faulty safety device: If H1 persists and the thermal cut-out tests open, replace it with the correct Lakeland-rated part.

Warning: Persistent overheat codes indicate a serious airflow or control issue. Do not continue using the unit until the cause is identified.
