Possible Causes

Weak heating element, Excessive heat loss due to damaged door/basket seal, Faulty NTC sensor reading low, Control board not driving heater at full power

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before internal checks.

  • Check loading: Avoid overfilling the basket or using very cold, large frozen items that can prevent preheat. Test with an empty basket at 200°C.
  • Inspect seals: Check the basket rim and any silicone or rubber seals for damage or gaps that allow hot air to escape. Replace worn seals if available as spare parts.
  • Heater test: Access the heater and measure its resistance. Compare to expected values from Lakeland service data if available. A significantly higher resistance can indicate a weak element.
  • Sensor verification: Confirm the NTC sensor is correctly positioned and not directly in a cold air stream. Replace if readings are clearly inaccurate.
  • Control board: If the heater and sensor are good but the unit never reaches temperature, the control board may be limiting power and should be replaced.

Warning: Do not attempt to modify the heater wattage or bypass controls to speed heating; this is unsafe.
