Possible Causes
Shorted heating element, Shorted fan motor, Damaged mains filter or varistor, Control board overcurrent protection triggering
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug immediately if you see smoke, smell burning, or hear popping noises.
- Visual inspection: Remove the cover and inspect the heater, fan motor, and power board for burn marks or melted insulation.
- Isolate components: Disconnect the heater and fan motor one at a time and test continuity. A very low resistance to earth/ground or between live and neutral may indicate a short.
- Check mains filter: Inspect the input filter board for cracked MOVs (varistors) or burnt components.
- Replace failed parts: Replace any shorted heater, fan motor, or damaged filter components with Lakeland-approved parts.
- Control board: If all loads test normal but P1 persists, the main PCB's current sensing circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
Warning: Overcurrent faults can be serious. If you are not confident in electrical diagnosis, consult a qualified appliance technician.
