• Assess damage: Examine the interior surfaces for flaking or bare metal. Minor cosmetic wear is normal; extensive flaking is not.
• Change cleaning habits: Use only soft sponges and non-abrasive cleaners. Avoid dishwasher if the manual advises hand-washing.
• Replace basket/pan: If coating is significantly peeling, replace the basket and/or pan with Lakeland-approved replacements to avoid ingesting flakes and to maintain performance.
• Avoid dry overheating: Do not preheat for long periods with an empty basket; always follow the recommended preheat times.
