Possible Causes
Damaged non-stick basket coating causing seepage, Cracked basket or pan, Overfilled basket with excess oil, Misaligned or missing drip tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before handling hot grease.
- Inspect basket and pan: Remove the basket and pan. Check for cracks, warping, or worn non-stick coating exposing metal seams.
- Check drip tray: Ensure the drip tray is correctly seated and not overfilled. Empty and clean after each use.
- Avoid excess oil: Use only light oil coatings on food; do not pour large quantities of oil into the basket.
- Replace damaged parts: If the basket or pan is cracked or the coating is badly degraded, replace with genuine Lakeland basket/pan assemblies to restore proper sealing.
Warning: Do not continue using a cracked pan or basket; leaking grease can reach electrical parts and create a fire hazard.
