Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on PCB, Faulty power cord, Failed main control board, Defective power switch or touch power circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before any disassembly. Mains voltage is present inside.
- Step 1 – Check outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped breaker or GFCI.
- Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or loose plug blades. If damaged, have the cord replaced.
- Step 3 – Internal fuse: Remove the housing to access the main PCB. Locate the glass or ceramic fuse near the power input. Test with a multimeter; if open, replace with the same type and rating. If it blows again immediately, there is a deeper fault.
- Step 4 – Check power switch circuit: On models with a mechanical power switch, test continuity when switched on. Replace the switch if it does not close.
- Step 5 – PCB replacement: If the fuse and switch are good but the unit remains dead, the main control board is likely defective and should be replaced.
