Possible Causes

Shorted NTC temperature sensor, Stuck heater relay/triac on PCB, Failed high‑limit thermostat, Grease buildup causing localized overheating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug immediately if you see smoke or smell burning plastic. Allow the unit to cool fully.

  • Step 1 – Deep clean: Remove basket and pan. Clean all grease from the heater area, walls, and vents. Built‑up grease can ignite or cause hot spots.
  • Step 2 – Check sensor: Inspect the cabinet NTC sensor for damage or dislodging. If it is touching the heater directly, reposition it in its clip.
  • Step 3 – Test thermostat and fuse: Verify that the high‑limit thermostat and thermal fuse are intact and correctly mounted to sense temperature.
  • Step 4 – PCB relay check: If the heater stays on continuously regardless of set temperature, the heater relay/triac may be welded closed. Replace the main control board.
  • Do not use: Do not continue using the air fryer until the cause of overheating is corrected.
