Possible Causes

Unlatched basket not engaging safety switch, Faulty Start button on touch panel, Software lock (child lock or pause mode), Defective main PCB logic circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug before accessing internal switches or boards.

  • Step 1 – Confirm basket is fully inserted: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket until it is flush with the front panel.
  • Step 2 – Check for lock modes: Some Midea models have a child lock or pause function. Refer to the user manual to disable any lock (often by holding a key for 3–5 seconds).
  • Step 3 – Test Start button: If other buttons respond but Start does not, the touch panel may be faulty. Lightly press around the Start icon; if intermittent, replace the touch control panel.
  • Step 4 – Basket switch test: Access the basket microswitch and test continuity when the basket is inserted. Replace the switch if it does not close.
  • Step 5 – PCB diagnosis: If all inputs are working but the unit still will not start, the main PCB logic may be defective and require replacement.
