Possible Causes
Open heating element, Failed heater relay/triac on PCB, Open thermal fuse in heater circuit, Loose heater wiring connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and let the unit cool completely before accessing the heater.
- Step 1 – Confirm fan operation: If the fan runs but there is no heat after several minutes, suspect the heater circuit.
- Step 2 – Visual inspection: Look at the heating element for visible breaks or burn spots.
- Step 3 – Test heater and fuse: With the unit unplugged, access the heater terminals and thermal fuse. Check continuity through the fuse and measure heater resistance. Replace any open component.
- Step 4 – Check PCB output: If heater and fuse are good, the heater relay/triac on the main PCB may not be switching. Replacement of the main control board is usually required.
