Possible Causes
Misaligned basket not engaging switch, Failed basket/door microswitch, Broken actuator tab on basket rail, Disconnected switch wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the switch area. Avoid bending metal tabs aggressively.
- Step 1 – Reseat basket: Remove the basket and pan, then firmly slide them back in until you hear or feel a click. Ensure no foil or parchment is caught in the rails.
- Step 2 – Inspect actuator: Look along the side or bottom rail for a plastic tab or protrusion that presses the internal microswitch. If broken or worn, the switch will not engage and the basket assembly may need replacement.
- Step 3 – Test switch: With the unit unplugged and cover removed, locate the basket/door microswitch. Manually press the lever and check for a distinct click. Use a multimeter to verify continuity when pressed. Replace the switch if it fails.
- Step 4 – Check wiring: Ensure the switch wires are firmly connected to the PCB and not pinched or broken.
- Step 5 – Reassemble: After replacing any parts, reassemble the housing fully before plugging in and testing.
