Possible Causes
NTC sensor shorted internally, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Grease or moisture bridging sensor terminals, Failed main PCB temperature sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool fully. Over‑temperature faults can indicate a real overheating condition.
- Step 1 – Clean the cooking chamber: Remove the basket and pan. Clean heavy grease buildup from the top heating area and walls with a non‑abrasive cleaner. Excess grease can cause localized overheating.
- Step 2 – Inspect sensor area: Locate the NTC sensor near the heater or exhaust area. Check for grease, moisture, or food debris bridging the sensor terminals. Gently clean with a dry cloth or cotton swab; do not soak the sensor.
- Step 3 – Check wiring for shorts: With the cover removed and unit unplugged, inspect the sensor harness for melted insulation or spots where the wire may touch the metal chassis. Repair or replace damaged wiring with high‑temperature rated wire.
- Step 4 – Measure sensor resistance: At room temperature, measure resistance across the sensor leads. If it reads very low (near 0Ω), the sensor is shorted and must be replaced.
- Step 5 – Evaluate PCB: If the sensor and wiring are good but E2 persists, the main control board’s sensor circuit may be damaged. Replacement of the main PCB is recommended.
