Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and PCB, Damaged touch control panel, Corroded keypad connector, Failed main PCB interface circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing the control panel. Capacitors on the PCB can retain charge; avoid touching exposed contacts.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E8 clears temporarily, the issue may be intermittent connection.
- Step 2 – Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front control panel bezel. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the touch panel to the main PCB. Ensure it is fully inserted and locked in place.
- Step 3 – Clean contacts: If the ribbon is removable, gently clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a lint‑free swab. Reinsert firmly.
- Step 4 – Check for cracks: Examine the touch panel board for cracks or liquid damage. If any traces are broken, replace the touch control panel assembly.
- Step 5 – PCB diagnosis: If the panel and cable are good but E8 persists, the interface IC on the main PCB may be faulty. Replace the main control board.
