Possible Causes
Firmware glitch on main PCB, Voltage spikes affecting microcontroller, Loose internal connectors, Failing main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the unit. Do not touch the underside of the PCB while powered.
- Step 1 – Hard reset: Unplug the air fryer for at least 10 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge. Plug back in and test.
- Step 2 – Check internal connectors: Remove the housing to access the main PCB. Gently press on all multi‑pin connectors (fan, heater, sensor, keypad) to ensure they are fully seated.
- Step 3 – Inspect for damage: Look for burn marks, corrosion, or insect infestation on the PCB. Clean light dust with compressed air; do not use water.
- Step 4 – Surge protection: If E9 occurs after storms or power events, use a quality surge protector for future use (but test repairs directly on a wall outlet first).
- Step 5 – Replace PCB: Persistent E9 after reseating connectors usually indicates a failing main control board that must be replaced.
