Possible Causes

Residual factory coatings on heater or chamber, Grease trapped in hidden areas, Non‑food‑safe cleaners used inside chamber

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug before cleaning. Do not immerse the main unit in water.

  • Step 1 – Initial burn‑in: Run the air fryer empty at 200°C (392°F) for 10–15 minutes with good ventilation to burn off manufacturing residues (if not already done).
  • Step 2 – Deep clean: Remove basket and pan; wash with hot soapy water. Wipe the interior chamber, heater guard, and door area with a mild detergent solution, then with clean water.
  • Step 3 – Check hidden grease: Inspect behind the heater guard and around the fan shroud for trapped grease. Clean carefully with a soft brush.
  • Step 4 – Avoid harsh chemicals: If strong chemical cleaners were used, repeatedly wipe with clean water and run several empty cycles to dissipate odors.
