Possible Causes
Damaged non‑stick coating with cracks, Warped or bent basket, Overfilled basket with high‑fat foods, Missing or damaged drip tray seal (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before handling hot oil.
- Check fill level: Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum fill line in the basket, especially with fatty foods that release oil.
- Inspect basket and pan: Remove the basket and pan. Look for cracks, warping, or gaps where the basket meets the pan. Replace the basket/pan assembly if damaged.
- Drip tray and seals: On models with a separate drip tray or silicone seal, verify that the tray is correctly seated and the seal is intact. Replace worn seals.
- Clean overflow: Wipe any oil from the outer housing and underside to prevent future drips and odors.
