Possible Causes
NTC sensor detached from mounting point, Shorted NTC sensor reading low, Stuck heater relay on main PCB, Incorrect calibration or faulty MCU
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and let the unit cool fully. Overheating can be a fire risk.
- Check sensor placement: Access the interior and locate the NTC sensor near the heater or air outlet. Ensure it is firmly clipped or screwed to the metal surface and not hanging loose.
- Test sensor resistance: Measure the NTC at room temperature and compare to expected values (consult service data if available). Replace if readings are significantly lower than normal.
- Inspect relay contacts: On the main PCB, check if the heater relay contacts are welded closed (heater always on). If so, replace the main control PCB.
- Functional test: After repairs, run the unit with an oven thermometer inside to verify that set temperatures roughly match actual temperatures.
