Possible Causes

Cabinet NTC sensor harness unplugged, Broken NTC sensor lead, Damaged wiring between sensor and main PCB, Failed main control PCB input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer from the mains before opening any panels. Allow the unit to cool completely.

  • Power reset: Disconnect the air fryer for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Sometimes E1 can be a transient sensor error.
  • Check sensor connector: Remove the rear or bottom cover (depending on model). Locate the small probe (NTC sensor) clipped near the heating element or in the air channel. Ensure its 2‑pin connector is firmly seated on the main PCB.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for broken, pinched, or burnt wires between the NTC sensor and the control board. Repair or replace damaged wiring using high‑temperature rated cable and proper crimp connectors.
  • Test the NTC sensor: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure across the sensor pins. A typical Morphy Richards NTC will show tens of kΩ at room temperature and change smoothly when warmed. If it reads open (OL) or 0 Ω, replace the sensor.
  • Check the PCB: If the sensor and wiring are good but E1 persists, the temperature sensing circuit on the main control PCB may be faulty. Replacement of the PCB is usually required and is best done by a qualified technician.
